Nerfs Reverted in Patch 4.1 (October 24th)

Space Marine 2 Patch Reverts Nerfs After Fan BacklashPatch 4.1, deploying October 24th, will revert the most impactful balance changes from Patch 4.0. This decision follows widespread player criticism and negative Steam reviews. Game director Dmitriy Grigorenko stated, "We’ve been monitoring your feedback...and have decided to address your most pressing concerns." The introduction of public test servers, planned for early 2025, aims to prevent similar issues in the future.

The initial nerfs in Patch 4.0, intended to increase the game's challenge, inadvertently made even easier difficulties too difficult. Saber Interactive clarified that the goal was to adjust enemy spawns rather than simply increasing enemy health. However, this approach negatively affected lower difficulty settings.

Space Marine 2 Patch Reverts Nerfs After Fan BacklashSpecific changes in Patch 4.1 include:

  • Extremis Enemy Spawns: Significantly reduced on Ruthless difficulty; reverted to pre-Patch 4.0 levels on Minimal, Average, and Substantial difficulties.

  • Ruthless Difficulty Buff: Player armor increased by 10%; bot damage to bosses increased by 30%.

  • Bolt Weapon Buffs: Significant damage increases across the entire Bolt weapon family. Specific increases are detailed below:

    • Auto Bolt Rifle: +20%
    • Bolt Rifle: +10%
    • Heavy Bolt Rifle: +15%
    • Stalker Bolt Rifle: +10%
    • Marksman Bolt Carbine: +10%
    • Instigator Bolt Carbine: +10%
    • Bolt Sniper Rifle: +12.5%
    • Bolt Carbine: +15%
    • Occulus Bolt Carbine: +15%
    • Heavy Bolter: +5% (x2)

Grigorenko concluded, "We will continue to monitor your feedback after the deployment of Patch 4.1 to ensure Lethal difficulty remains appropriately challenging and rewarding."
