Marvel Rivals Comments on 30 FPS Bug

Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue Affecting Certain Heroes

A bug in Marvel Rivals is causing reduced damage output for some heroes at lower FPS settings (30 FPS). This affects characters like Dr. Strange and Wolverine, impacting their attack effectiveness compared to higher FPS gameplay (60 or 120 FPS). The issue primarily impacts attacks against stationary targets, making it less noticeable in dynamic matches. Affected abilities include Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw.

The developers have acknowledged the problem, attributing it to a client-side prediction mechanism. While a definitive fix timeline isn't available, the team is actively working on a solution. A community manager has confirmed that the upcoming Season 1 launch on January 11th will address this issue, either fully resolving it or significantly mitigating the problem. A subsequent patch will address any remaining issues.

Despite this ongoing bug, Marvel Rivals, launched in early December 2025, has been well-received by the community, boasting an 80% approval rating on Steam based on over 132,000 reviews. While early concerns existed regarding hero balance, the overall reception remains positive. The upcoming Season 1 update is expected to improve the gameplay experience further by resolving the FPS-related damage inconsistencies.
