Remedy Eyes PlayStation Studios for Inspiration
Remedy Entertainment's ambition is to be a leading force in the gaming industry. Inspired by Naughty Dog, particularly their Uncharted series, Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley aims for Remedy to become "the European Naughty Dog," as he stated in a Behind The Voice podcast interview. This influence is visible in Quantum Break and, more prominently, in Alan Wake 2.
Rowley's statement highlights the cinematic ambition behind Alan Wake 2, a game praised for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative. The game's success has cemented Remedy's standing as a top European studio. Their aspirations extend beyond the horror genre, mirroring Naughty Dog's mastery of cinematic single-player experiences like Uncharted and The Last of Us – titles integral to PlayStation's history, with The Last of Us being one of gaming's most decorated franchises.
Alan Wake 2, even over a year post-launch, continues to receive updates. These updates enhance gameplay across all platforms, most notably optimizing the game for the PS5 Pro. A new "Balanced" graphics option blends the PS5 Pro Performance and Quality modes.
These updates also include subtle graphic adjustments for smoother framerates and clearer visuals, alongside bug fixes impacting gameplay, particularly within the Lake House expansion.
