Krysten Ritter Confirms Return as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

The rumors are officially true – Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones in Marvel's upcoming Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Variety broke the news during Disney's Upfront presentation in New York, confirming what fans have long hoped for as Netflix's Defenders slowly integrate into the MCU.

Ritter made a surprise appearance alongside Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) to share her enthusiasm about bringing the sardonic private eye back to screens. "After playing Jessica through three seasons and The Defenders, returning to this iconic role feels incredible," Ritter told the crowd. "While I can't reveal too much, I promise fans won't be disappointed – we've got some exciting developments coming."

First introduced in Netflix's 2015 Jessica Jones series, Ritter's portrayal of the hard-drinking, quick-witted investigator became an instant fan favorite. Though the character's future seemed uncertain after Netflix concluded its Marvel productions in 2019, Disney's reacquisition of character rights reignited hopes for her return.

The Daredevil revival series appears to be paving the way for several Netflix-era heroes to join the MCU proper. With Jon Bernthal's Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, Ritter's comeback suggests Marvel Studios intends to fully embrace the street-level heroes that gained popularity during Netflix's tenure.

While Jessica Jones' exact role remains under wraps, Ritter hinted at expanded plans for the character beyond Born Again. Currently, production is targeting a March 2026 premiere window according to showrunner Dario Scardapane.
