Team Ninja's substantial update for Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection's Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (now version 1.0.7.0) introduces highly anticipated features and significant improvements. Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam & Microsoft Store), this patch delivers on previously promised fan feedback.

Key additions include New Game Plus, allowing players to restart with previously acquired weapons and Ninpo (reset to level 1), and a Photo Mode for capturing in-game moments. A quality-of-life enhancement lets players toggle the visibility of their projectile weapon via the Game Settings menu.

Balance adjustments include HP reductions for enemies in Chapters 8 and 11, increased enemy counts in Chapters 13 and 14, and damage buffs to some of Ayane's attacks. Numerous bug fixes address high-performance PC issues, game-breaking glitches in specific chapters, and crashes related to extended playtime. The complete patch notes are detailed below.

Originally a surprise release during January's Xbox Developer Direct, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, built with Unreal Engine 5, boasts enhanced visuals, new playable characters, and improved combat mechanics. IGN's 8/10 review praised its visual upgrade over Sigma 2, while noting some balance adjustments.
