Gran Saga to close its doors next month

Grand Saga is shutting down on April 30th, 2025, ending its brief international run. In-app purchases are already disabled, and players have until May 30th to request refunds for past purchases (though success isn't guaranteed depending on usage and store policies).

Launched in Japan in 2021 to considerable success, the global version, released in November 2024, lasted less than six months. The closure is attributed to financial difficulties and the challenges of competing in a saturated global mobile gaming market dominated by established titles. While initially promising, Grand Saga failed to gain significant traction internationally, unable to overcome the hurdles presented by its established competitors.

This follows a trend of gacha RPG closures, mirroring recent shutdowns like My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero. The highly competitive market makes it difficult for new games to establish themselves, leading to many struggling to survive long-term.
