Freedom Wars Remastered Shows Off Gameplay Systems
Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Unveiled
A new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered showcases its improved gameplay and control systems, offering a fresh look at this dystopian action RPG. Players will battle colossal mechanical creatures known as Abductors, gather resources, upgrade their equipment, and tackle diverse missions within a resource-depleted world.
This remastered edition boasts significant enhancements, including upgraded visuals, faster-paced combat, a refined crafting system, a challenging new difficulty mode, and all original customization DLC included. Freedom Wars Remastered launches January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.
Originally a PlayStation Vita exclusive, Freedom Wars emerged as a response to Capcom's decision to bring the Monster Hunter series to Nintendo consoles. While the setting differs greatly, the core gameplay loop remains strikingly similar: players engage in intense battles against massive Abductors, collect their components, and upgrade their gear to increase combat effectiveness.
The new trailer illustrates these gameplay mechanics. It introduces the protagonist, a "Sinner" condemned for the crime of being born, and highlights the game's dystopian setting. Players must complete missions to benefit their Panopticon—their city-state—ranging from rescuing citizens and eliminating Abductors to securing control systems. These missions can be undertaken solo or cooperatively online.
Gameplay Enhancements in Freedom Wars Remastered:
The trailer details the numerous improvements in Freedom Wars Remastered. Visuals receive a significant boost, with PS5 and PC versions reaching 4K (2160p) resolution at 60 FPS. PS4 offers 1080p at 60 FPS, while the Switch version runs at 1080p, 30 FPS. Gameplay is faster and more fluid thanks to enhanced movement speed, new mechanics, and improved attack cancellation capabilities.
Crafting and upgrades have undergone a complete overhaul, featuring intuitive interfaces and the ability to freely attach and detach modules. A new module synthesis feature allows players to enhance modules using resources obtained by rescuing citizens. Finally, the "Deadly Sinner" difficulty mode caters to experienced players, and all DLC customization options from the original PS Vita release are available from the outset.
