Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 receives two classic game modes and a map this week, hot on the heels of its launch and a recent update addressing player-reported bugs.

Nuketown and Infection Arrive This Week

Treyarch, the developer behind Black Ops 6, announced via Twitter (now X) that the popular "Infected" mode will launch tomorrow, followed by the iconic Nuketown map on November 1st. Infected pits players against AI-controlled zombies, while Nuketown, first seen in 2010's Black Ops, provides a thrilling multiplayer experience set in a 1950s-inspired nuclear test site. This follows Activision's earlier promise of regular post-launch content additions. Black Ops 6, released October 25th, already boasts 11 standard multiplayer modes at launch, including variations with disabled Scorestreaks and a Hardcore mode.

Black Ops 6 Update Addresses Numerous Bugs

A recent update tackled several issues affecting both multiplayer and Zombies modes. Improvements include increased XP and weapon XP rates in key modes like Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight. Activision stated that they are actively monitoring XP across all modes. The patch addressed various problems including:

  • Global: Resolved loadout highlighting, Bailey operator animation, and the "Mute Licensed Music" setting functionality.
  • Maps: Fixed exploits allowing players to leave the designated play area on Babylon, Lowtown, and Red Card maps. Red Card also received stability improvements. General in-game interaction stability was also addressed.
  • Multiplayer: Improved matchmaking to swiftly find replacements for players leaving matches and prevented private matches from forfeiting with zero players on a team. The persistent Dreadnought missile sound effect was also fixed.

Further fixes are planned for outstanding issues, such as the problem of players dying upon loadout selection in Search & Destroy. Despite these initial post-launch challenges, Black Ops 6 is considered by many to be a top-tier Call of Duty title, particularly praising its enjoyable campaign.
