Wukong Sun will make its way to Nintendo Switch in a few days

The gaming world often sees projects attempting to capitalize on the success of popular titles. However, Wukong Sun: Black Legend goes beyond mere inspiration; it exhibits significant similarities to Black Myth: Wukong, raising concerns about plagiarism. The visual style, the protagonist wielding a staff, and the plot summary strongly resemble Game Science's acclaimed game.

Currently available for pre-order on the US eShop, the game's future is uncertain. Given the apparent copyright infringement, Game Science could pursue legal action, potentially leading to its removal from the platform.

Wukong Sun: Black Legend's description reads: "Embark on an epic journey to the West. Play as the immortal Wukong, the legendary Monkey King, battling for order in a chaotic world teeming with powerful monsters and deadly dangers. Explore a story inspired by Chinese mythology, featuring intense battles, breathtaking locations, and legendary enemies."

In contrast, Black Myth: Wukong, an epic adventure rooted in Chinese mythology, unexpectedly soared to popularity from a small Chinese studio, even topping Steam charts. It boasts exceptional detail, captivating gameplay, and challenging, skill-based combat. While incorporating elements of the Souls-like genre, its accessibility makes it enjoyable for newcomers.

The combat system and progression are thoughtfully designed, avoiding the need for extensive guides while still encouraging strategic thinking. Visually, the battles are stunning, thanks to fluid animations. The game's strength lies in its captivating setting and visual design, immersing players in a fantastical world with breathtaking character design and environmental beauty. Many gamers believe Black Myth: Wukong deserved a "Game of the Year 2024" nomination at The Game Awards.
