Many apps now offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat is joining the trend with its new 2024 Snap Recap feature. Unlike detailed statistical summaries seen in other platforms, Snap Recap offers a fun, curated look back at your year on Snapchat.

What is a Snap Recap?

Launched in 2024, Snap Recap compiles your Snapchat memories from the year, presenting a slideshow of highlights—typically one snap per month. It's a less data-driven approach than similar features on Spotify or Twitch, focusing on visual memories rather than detailed statistics. The recap seamlessly transitions into the Memories feature, allowing you to explore past events captured on Snapchat.

How to View Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your Snap Recap is straightforward. On the main camera screen, swipe up to access Memories (avoiding taking a photo or video). Your 2024 Snap Recap will appear as a prominent video in the Memories menu.

Tap the recap video (avoiding the share icon) to view your personalized slideshow. The recap automatically plays, showcasing your selected snaps. You can tap the screen to navigate through the slideshow at your own pace. Like other Snaps, you can save, edit, share, or add it to your Story.

Why Don't I Have a Snapchat Recap?

If your Snap Recap isn't yet available, don't worry. Snapchat confirms a staggered rollout. The creation of a recap depends on several factors, including the number of saved Snaps. Inconsistent Snapchat usage might also contribute to its absence. Unfortunately, you can't request a recap if it doesn't automatically appear.
