Unveiling the Secrets: Indiana Jones Uncovers Forbidden Truth
MachineGames, the studio behind the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, has confirmed a heartwarming detail: players won't be able to harm dogs in the game. This commitment to animal welfare sets the title apart and offers a unique gameplay experience. Let's delve into this decision and explore other aspects of the game.
No Harm to Hounds in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
Indy's a Dog Lover, Confirms MachineGames' Creative Director
While many games feature violence against animals, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes a different approach. Speaking with IGN, Creative Director Jens Andersson stated, "Indiana Jones is a dog person." This philosophy guides the game's design, ensuring that while Indy engages in combat with human enemies, his interactions with dogs remain entirely harmless. This marks a significant departure from MachineGames' previous work, such as the Wolfenstein series.
Andersson further explained, "It’s a family-friendly IP in many ways. We have dogs in the game, but you don't hurt them. You scare them away."
Launching December 9th on Xbox Series X|S and PC (with a PS5 release slated for Spring 2025), Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set in 1937, between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. Indy's quest begins with the recovery of stolen artifacts from Marshall College, taking him on a globe-trotting adventure from the Vatican to the Egyptian pyramids and even the submerged temples of Sukhothai.
Indy's trusty whip, used for traversal and combat, won't be used against our four-legged friends. This open-world adventure promises thrilling action, but with a compassionate twist for animal lovers.
