Short Circuit Studio has released a new update for TownsFolk, their settlement building game that launched last month. Titled "Shadows and Fortune," this latest content expansion perfectly matches the game's charming pixel-art adventure aesthetic while introducing a host of new mechanics to explore.

Even though the game is new, the developers are committed to enriching the experience with substantial content. The update brings new buildings and challenges that significantly enhance gameplay. You'll now encounter roaming Barbarians that intensify both campaign missions and Skirmish mode, alongside eight new structures including the Altar, Town Square, Blacksmith, Aqueduct, Bank, Granary, Factory, and Terraformer.

Aquatic areas receive an exciting addition with the appearance of the rare Whale, while Special Locations like ancient Obelisks and newly added Shipwrecks increase the element of surprise.

To help players navigate these new features, a convenient Compendium serves as an in-game encyclopedia for tracking everything. The Exploration System has been completely overhauled, and Campaign Difficulties now offer adjustable settings between Frontier and Survival modes.
