Real Vampires gives you a taste (or a bite) of authentic Slavic vampire folklore, coming soon this Halloween

Quirky visuals and dual perspectives
Horror and humour combined
Launching on October 30th
Despite what Hollywood—especially its gleaming vampires—might have you believe, blood-sucking creatures of the night stem from real folklore. The aptly titled Real Vampires dives deep into this eerie world and beyond. As the title suggests, you’ll embark on a narrative journey to uncover hidden secrets about these mysterious beings, and the tasks you’ll face along the way may surprise you.
What fascinates me most is its inspiration from the actual research of historian Dr. Lukasz Kozak. You’ll explore authentic Slavic vampire legends, all brought to life through cut-out visuals by Julia Mirny.
It’s also intriguing how you can play from dual perspectives—seeing events through the eyes of the locals as well as those of the vampire. After all, things aren’t always black and white, especially when the undead are involved.

As for gameplay, you’ll learn from mistakes, engage in oddball mini-games, and blend horror with humor to unravel the truth—mixing absurdity with factual history.
Based on the trailer and screenshots available online, I don’t yet fully grasp how everything comes together—and that’s precisely what makes it so captivating. It’s a short adventure, clocking in at just 1.5 hours, but I suspect the questions it leaves behind will linger far longer.
In the meantime, you can pre-order on the App Store and Google Play if you’re eager to dive in as soon as it launches. The expected release date is October 30th, with a price of $4.99 or your local equivalent.
