This month celebrates the 20th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the final chapter of the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Released on May 19, 2005, it was the last Star Wars film directed by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012.

Viewers anticipated Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader in Revenge of the Sith, but many wondered about the fate of the other Jedi. The film introduced Order 66, a sinister plot by Palpatine that turned Clone Troopers against their Jedi allies, ordering their immediate execution. With thousands of Jedi active, some inevitably escaped Palpatine’s purge, beyond just those known to survive into the Original Trilogy.

From the dozens of Order 66 survivors in canon Star Wars stories, we’ve ranked the top 10 who left a significant mark. Some survived only briefly, while others endured far longer, with a few whose fates remain a mystery. Each of these Jedi lived to fight another day after Palpatine’s command to “Execute Order 66.”

Our criteria: These characters must have been part of the Jedi Order before Order 66, whether as Padawans, Jedi Knights, Jedi Masters, or young Initiates. This excludes Force-users like Maul or Palpatine, as well as untrained Force-sensitive individuals like Jod Na Nawood, who never joined the Jedi Order or visited the Jedi Temple, despite receiving minimal Jedi training.

We debated including Asajj Ventress. She trained for over 20 years under Jedi Ky Narec, who named her his Padawan while stranded on Rattatak. However, she never visited Coruscant, met the Jedi Council, or interacted with other Jedi before Narec’s death. Her later turn to the Dark Side as Dooku’s apprentice further clouds her Jedi status, so we’ve listed her as an honorable mention. Now, let’s explore…
