Texas Chain Saw Massacre Gets New Update for June 2024

Sumo Digital announces a crucial update for Texas Chain Saw Massacre, launching June 25th, 2024, addressing several character skill tree issues and general gameplay improvements. This update targets bugs impacting Cook, Julie, and Hands, along with UI and visual glitches.

Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Sumo Digital's asymmetrical horror game inspired by the 1974 film, pits the Slaughter family against their victims in a thrilling 3v4 multiplayer experience set in early 1973. The game has earned praise for its faithful recreation of the film's terrifying atmosphere.

The June 25th update (available on consoles and PC) introduces the Hitchhiker’s Claymore outfit, purchasable for $2.99 USD. Beyond this cosmetic addition, significant fixes are included: lobby cooldown penalties have been refined for smoother matchmaking, and several skill tree problems have been resolved. Cook's middle skill tree path, previously blocking level 10 progression, is now fixed with added attribute points. Similarly, issues preventing Julie from reaching level 10 on her left path have been addressed.

Hands, the game's newest killer, receives substantial ability adjustments. An exploit involving his stamina, where his middle ability tree path incorrectly affected overall stamina, has been patched. Further, issues with his "Reduce Defensive Barge Stamina Cost" upgrades are now resolved.

Several visual improvements are included, notably fixes for Maria's hair textures and model inconsistencies. Incorrect skill tree node connections have also been corrected, and a UI bug wrongly displaying removed perks in character customization has been eliminated.
