If you've been following us for a while, you might be familiar with our parent company's event, Pocket Gamer Connects. One of our highlights at these events is the Big Indie Pitch, where we showcase innovative indie games to a panel of expert judges. Today, we're excited to spotlight one of the top runners-up that caught our eye: the math-battling roguelike, Talystro!

At first glance, Talystro might blend in with the crowd of popular deckbuilding roguelikes, but a closer look reveals its unique charm. As you play the math mouse, your mission is to depose the evil Necrodicer by battling numerical monsters. The game's innovative mechanics blend cards and dice, challenging you to create target numbers to defeat your foes. Be strategic, as you're limited to a certain number of dice per turn!

Crypt of the NecrodicerTalystro boasts a delightful mix of rubber hose-style animation and a fantasy aesthetic, reminiscent of those math-focused educational games from your childhood. While it sticks to basic, entry-level mathematics, the gameplay remains captivating and intuitive, making it easy to dive right in.

Mark your calendars for Talystro's release in March! Its simple-to-understand yet challenging gameplay (a formula many deckbuilders struggle to perfect) is poised to captivate gamers. In the meantime, while you await Talystro's arrival, why not explore our latest list of the top five new mobile games to try this week?
