Official Steam Deck Testing Results for Silent Hill f

Labeled as Playable, Some Tuning Required

Silent Hill f Steam Deck Compatible, But Not Quite Verified

Valve's official testing confirms Silent Hill f is playable on Steam Deck. It hasn't earned the "Verified" badge because perfect compatibility requires users to adjust some settings. For full verification, a game must function flawlessly with the device's native controls and display, passing all of Valve's checks for input, visuals, seamless experience, and system support.

The test results show that all of Silent Hill f's features are accessible using the default controller layout, and Steam Deck button icons display correctly. However, some in-game text is small and potentially difficult to read. Players will also need to manually configure settings to achieve optimal performance on the handheld.

This marks a significant step forward, especially considering the Silent Hill 2 Remake remains unsupported on Steam Deck despite performance patches. With Konami yet to announce an official release date for Silent Hill f, the development team still has time for further optimization.

Official PC System Requirements

Silent Hill f Steam Deck Compatible, But Not Quite Verified

Konami updated the Steam store page last month with the official PC system requirements for Silent Hill f. These specs give us a clue about how the game might perform on Valve's handheld. Below is the complete table detailing the minimum and recommended specifications.

For the minimum setup, an NVIDIA GTX 1070 is required to run the game at 720p and 30fps using Performance Quality settings. Comparing this to the Steam Deck's integrated GPU suggests players should expect a visual downgrade from the baseline PC requirements. Running at 720p on the Deck's built-in screen may be acceptable, but connecting to an HDTV could make limitations more apparent. Konami also recommends using an SSD.

For the recommended specifications, players can target either 60fps with Performance settings or 30fps with Quality settings. An SSD is mandatory for both of these configurations.
