NetEase Games has unveiled a developer update outlining the balance changes arriving in Marvel Rivals Season 1. The season will spotlight Dracula as the central villain and introduce The Fantastic Four to the game's expanding roster. Excitement is building among fans as Season 1: Eternal Night Falls launches on January 10 at 1 AM PST.

The same developer announcement confirmed that Season 1 will bring three new maps, a fresh Doom Match mode, and a substantial battle pass featuring 10 skins. The battle pass is available for 990 Lattice, approximately $10. As players complete objectives, they will collect 600 Lattice and 600 Units through the battle pass progression. Mister Fantastic and The Invisible Woman will join the game at the start of the season, with Human Torch and The Thing following about six to seven weeks later.

Marvel Rivals' latest Dev Vision video provides insights into the balance updates for Season 1: Eternal Night Falls. Hela and Hawkeye will undergo nerfs following their dominant performance in Season 0, where they frequently faced bans in high-level matches. Developers aim to boost the effectiveness of mobile Vanguard heroes who engage directly in combat. To support this playstyle, characters like Captain America and Venom will receive significant buffs.

Marvel Rivals Unveils Balance Updates for Venom, Hawkeye, Wolverine, and Others

Wolverine and Storm will receive buffs in Marvel Rivals, promoting specialized strategic use of these mutants. Previously, many players advocated for improvements or complete reworks for these iconic heroes, with some suggesting Wolverine should transition to a Vanguard role. Cloak and Dagger will also be enhanced to improve their synergy with diverse team compositions. Developers are additionally adjusting Jeff the Land Shark, addressing player feedback that his early warning indicators don't match his ultimate ability's actual hit box. While some players find Jeff's ultimate overpowered, NetEase Games hasn't announced major changes to this ability.

NetEase Games remained silent about Marvel Rivals' Seasonal Bonus feature, though the community anticipates some heroes losing bonuses while others gain new advantages. This feature has sparked debate, with many players believing the game would achieve better balance without it. Packed with new content and updates, Season 1 of Marvel Rivals has already generated considerable excitement among players eager to dive in at launch.
