For completionists playing Pokemon TCG Pocket, the Promo Card section is usually a satisfyingly short list to complete. However, the elusive Promo Card 8 is currently causing frustration for many players.

The Appearance of Promo Card 8

The mystery began around January 2025 when a new, unobtainable Promo Card 008 slot suddenly appeared in the Promo – A Card Dex. This empty space sits conspicuously between Professor Oak (007) and Pikachu (009).

Unveiling Promo Card 008

Although currently unobtainable, clues about Promo Card 008's appearance exist. Accessing the "Related Cards" section for cards like Red Card (006) or Pokedex (004) reveals a greyed-out version of the card.

This alternate art Pokedex depicts a Pokedex surrounded by Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.

Unlike cards obtained through missions or Wonder Pick events, which have specific event-related descriptions, Promo Card 008's "campaign" designation is unique. This lack of specifics leaves the exact release date and method of acquisition unknown.

Until its release, players seeking a complete collection can temporarily disable the display of unowned cards in the game settings.
