Pokémon GO's New Year's Celebration: Festive Pokémon and Bonuses Await!

Get ready to celebrate the New Year in Pokémon GO! From December 30th to January 1st, 2025, a special New Year's event brings themed bonuses, unique Pokémon encounters, and exciting ways to ring in the new year.

Following the Community Day event (December 21st-22nd), featuring returning Community Day Pokémon, the New Year's festivities begin. A key highlight is the boosted XP: earn 2,025 XP for each Pokémon caught with an Excellent Throw! Enjoy immersive festive decorations and celebratory fireworks as you explore.

Expect increased appearances of special Pokémon: Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (sporting a party hat) will be more common in the wild, with a chance to encounter their Shiny forms.

Raids receive a festive makeover too! One-star raids feature a snowflake-hatted Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates are increased for all three.
