Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Hosting Year of the Snake Mass Outbreak Event
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Snake-Themed Mass Outbreak Event
A special Mass Outbreak event is underway in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, celebrating the Year of the Snake! This limited-time event boosts the appearance rate of Silicobra, Ekans, and Seviper, significantly increasing the chances of encountering their Shiny variants.
The event, running from January 9th to 12th, offers players a chance to catch these snake-like Pokémon in abundance. Silicobra will appear across the Paldea region, Ekans in Kitakami, and Seviper in the Terarium. Pokémon levels will vary (10-65) based on player progression in the main storyline. To participate, players must connect to the internet, access the Poke Portal via the in-game menu, and select "Get Poke Portal News."
Event Highlights:
- Increased Shiny Odds: The Shiny encounter rate for Silicobra, Ekans, and Seviper is boosted by 0.5% before any additional multipliers are applied. Shiny hunting is further enhanced by using Shiny Sandwiches. Recipes include: Salty/Spicy Herba Mystica + Green Bell Pepper (Ekans/Seviper) and Ham (Silicobra).
- Pokémon Distribution: Silicobra spawns across Paldea, Ekans in Kitakami, and Seviper in the Terarium.
- Limited Time: The event concludes on January 12th.
This event follows the recent Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid event, a fitting end to the Year of the Dragon. As 2025 ushers in the Year of the Snake, the future of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet remains intriguing, especially with the anticipated launch of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The Pokémon Company's plans for the year ahead are yet to be revealed.
