Quick Links

In Persona 4 Golden, Golden Hands can surprise you by appearing in any dungeon, whether roaming the overworld or lurking in chests. As you progress through the dungeons, each iteration of Golden Hands becomes progressively tougher, making them some of the most challenging foes to defeat.

Despite their difficulty, defeating Golden Hands is highly rewarding, as they grant massive amounts of XP. In Yukiko's Castle, you'll encounter the Happiness Hands, which can be tackled even early in the game with the right strategy.

Happiness Hand Affinities In Persona 4 Golden

Happiness Hands boast a formidable resistance against all forms of elemental damage. The key to defeating them lies in exploiting their vulnerability to Physical damage. While Almighty damage is typically effective against Golden Hands, it's not a viable option early in the game. Happiness Hands tend to be less aggressive, often idling during their turns, but they're quick to flee if given the chance.

If they manage to hit a party member's weakness or score a critical hit, they'll immediately attempt to escape. When facing a group, it's crucial to focus on one Happiness Hand at a time, as you'll be fortunate to take down even a single one before they all scatter.

How To Beat Happiness Hands In Persona 4 Golden

The secret to overcoming Happiness Hands is to fuse an Orobas Persona, which possesses the Hysterical Slap skill. This skill not only strikes twice but also has a chance to inflict Rage, causing the Happiness Hand to stick around and use basic attacks instead of fleeing. You can fuse Orobas using the following combinations:

  • Apsaras + Forneus
  • Apsaras + Slime

Before engaging a Happiness Hand, ensure your party is fully healed to focus solely on physical attacks during the battle. Have Yosuke utilize Sonic Punch, Chie employ Skull Cracker, and the Protagonist repeatedly use Hysterical Slap. Much of this battle depends on luck, given the early stage of the game and limited options, but successfully defeating a Happiness Hand can significantly boost your party's levels.

Be cautious if you knock a Happiness Hand down; avoid using an all-out-attack unless you're certain it will finish the job, as otherwise, it will get back up and escape.
