Peacemaker S2 Trailer Reveals Superman Links, New Faces

Max has unveiled the official trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, prominently featuring DCU Easter eggs with appearances by Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner right from the opening sequence.

The trailer begins with Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl conducting an unsuccessful interview with John Cena's Peacemaker for an undisclosed superhero team, leaving the titular character visibly frustrated.

These cameos offer our first proper look at supporting characters who'll appear in James Gunn's upcoming Superman film.

Peacemaker Season 2 launches August 21 following the July 11 release of Superman as the DCU's third installment (following Creature Commandos late last year).

Gunn and Peter Safran's revitalized DC Universe marks a departure from the controversial DC Extended Universe characterized by films like Justice League and Batman v Superman, though certain elements persist.

The Peacemaker series exemplifies this transition - Season 1 debuted in the old DCEU while Season 2 joins the rebooted DCU.

Gunn has clarified that while "many narrative threads will continue for Peacemaker," specifics about the DCEU-to-DCU transition remain unclear. The entire original cast returns, including John Cena alongside Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, and Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo.

The creator confirmed the series' events officially follow both Creature Commandos and Superman, with the latter film directly impacting Peacemaker's storyline.
