"Oblivion Remastered Keeps Iconic Line Flub"
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered breathes new life into one of Bethesda's landmark titles, enhancing visuals, gameplay mechanics, and more. Yet, in a nod to nostalgia, the team at Virtuos has retained one of the original game's most beloved quirks: an iconic voice line flub.
Long-time fans of The Elder Scrolls series are well-acquainted with Tandilwe, the Master Speechcraft trainer and High Elf found in the Temple of the One in the Imperial City. When Oblivion first graced PC and Xbox 360 screens nearly two decades ago, it became evident that Tandilwe herself could benefit from some speech training. A notorious voice line, believed to be a misstep by actress Linda Kenyon attempting a line, has since become a cherished part of gaming lore.

As players embarked on their journey through a revitalized Cyrodiil yesterday, many were eager to see how faithful the ground-up remaster would be. While the game boasts revamped environments, character models, and items, fans have been delighted to discover that many of the original's charming imperfections remain. Tandilwe's hilarious blooper, complete with its lack of subtitles, has returned to the delight of many.

In a 2019 interview with YouTube channel Jake 'The Voice' Parr, Linda Kenyon, upon learning of her blooper's fame, humorously remarked, "It wasn't my fault!"
As thousands dive into The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, debates swirl around whether this Bethesda re-release leans more towards a remake than a remaster. Yet, many are simply thrilled to see the game's original quirks preserved. Bethesda and Virtuos made a conscious effort to maintain these elements, a decision that appears to resonate well with both new and veteran players.
