Netflix Developing Over 80 Games
Netflix's Gaming Ambitions: 80+ Titles in Development and a Monthly Story Release
Netflix continues to expand its gaming portfolio, with over eighty titles currently under development. This was revealed during a recent earnings call by co-CEO Gregory K. Peters, who also highlighted the service's success in launching over 100 games to date.
A key strategy involves leveraging Netflix's existing intellectual property (IP). Expect to see games directly tied to popular Netflix shows, encouraging viewers to seamlessly transition between watching and playing.
Another focus is on narrative-driven games, spearheaded by the Netflix Stories hub. Peters announced plans to significantly increase the release frequency of Netflix Stories games, aiming for at least one new title per month.
Mobile Gaming Remains Unchanged
Netflix Games initially faced challenges due to low visibility among subscribers. Concerns arose regarding potential setbacks, including a possible shift towards advertising-supported games. However, Netflix is pressing forward, and while specific Netflix Games subscriber numbers weren't disclosed, the overall streaming service continues to experience growth.
