Mobile Legends: Bang Bang to return for Esports World Cup in 2025
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025
Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several game publishers have confirmed their titles' return for the 2025 competition. Hot on the heels of Free Fire's announcement, Moonton has confirmed the return of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB).
The 2024 tournament featured two MLBB events: the Mid-Season Cup (MSC) and the Women's Invitational. Teams from around the globe competed in Riyadh, with Selangor Red Giants winning the MSC gold and Smart Omega Empress defeating Team Vitality (holders of a 25-game win streak since 2021) in the Women's Invitational.
A Significant, Yet Secondary, Event?
While most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup are returning, a notable trend emerges: the featured competitions aren't necessarily the major championships for these titles. The inclusion of MLBB's mid-season cup, for instance, might suggest the Esports World Cup is viewed as a supplementary event rather than the primary focus.
This presents a double-edged sword. It's positive in that the EWC avoids overshadowing established leagues, but it could also be perceived as secondary to the main championships.
Nevertheless, fans of MLBB and other returning games will undoubtedly welcome their participation in this prestigious tournament. For those intrigued by MLBB, check out our Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tier list to discover the top-tier characters!
