Master the Demon’s Hand Card Game Strategy in League of Legends
If you're a fan of *League of Legends*, you'll be thrilled to know that a new minigame, Demon’s Hand, has been added to the client and is available until the end of April. If you've played *Balatro*, you'll find the gameplay quite familiar. Let's dive into how you can get started and master this exciting card game within *League of Legends*.
League of Legends Demon’s Hand Set-Up and Getting Started
First things first, ensure your *League* client is updated to the latest version. Once updated, click the Play button, navigate to the game type menu, and select Demon’s Hand. This will kick off an engaging story introduction and lead you straight into your first round of the card game.

On the game interface, your hand of cards is displayed along the bottom row. In the bottom right corner, you'll see your health, coins, and percentage of critical hit chance. Just above, you'll find your Sigil box, which can hold up to six Sigils at once, though you'll start without any. Remember, your health doesn't automatically replenish after each battle; you'll need to visit tent locations on the map to restore a portion of it.
Your opponent is represented by the card at the top, with its health and damage values shown in the bottom right and left corners of the card, respectively. To the left of the enemy card, you'll see an attack coin indicating the number of hands you can play before the enemy strikes back. On the far left of the screen, there's a book icon listing all possible hands you can play as attacks, along with their base damage in a standard round.

To inflict damage, you'll need to play poker hands, which in Demon’s Hand have unique names but follow traditional poker rules. The ultimate hand to aim for is The Demon’s Hand, equivalent to a royal flush. Here's a breakdown of the hands you can play and their corresponding poker hands:
- Solo = High Card (10 Base Damage)
- Dyad = Pair (20 Base Damage)
- Dyad Set = Two Pair (40 Base Damage)
- Triad = Three of a Kind (80 Base Damage)
- Tetrad = Four of a Kind (100 Base Damage)
- March = Straight (125 Base Damage)
- Horde = Flush (175 Base Damage)
- Grand Warhost = Full House (400 Base Damage)
- Marching Horde = Straight Flush (600 Base Damage)
- The Demon’s Hand = Royal Flush (2000 Base Damage)
In addition to the base damage, the numerical value of each card is added to the total damage. However, if an enemy has a special ability negating a specific suit, those cards will be crossed out, and their values won't contribute to your damage.
Spice Up Your Attacks with Sigils
Sigils add another layer of strategy to Demon’s Hand. These are purchased during store phases, indicated by coins on the map. You earn coins by defeating enemies, which you can then use to buy Sigils. Each Sigil has a unique ability, visible when you hover over them in the store or during gameplay. Some Sigils enhance specific hands, like boosting the damage of Dyads, while others might grant you additional turns before the enemy attacks or reduce the damage you receive.
That's the rundown on how to play Demon’s Hand in *League of Legends*. If this minigame doesn't catch your interest, be sure to check out the upcoming April Fools skins for some fun additions to Summoner’s Rift.
