Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Won't Have Denuvo DRM

Warhorse Studios confirms: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be DRM-free! Recent rumors suggesting otherwise are false.

The developers have explicitly stated that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (KCD2) will launch without any digital rights management (DRM) system whatsoever, including Denuvo. This clarification comes in response to persistent fan inquiries and misinformation circulating online.

Warhorse Studios PR head, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, addressed the issue directly, urging players to cease inquiries about DRM. He emphasized that any information contrary to their official statement is inaccurate.

The absence of DRM is welcome news for many gamers concerned about potential performance impacts and negative user experiences associated with such systems, especially Denuvo. While Denuvo's product manager, Andreas Ullmann, attributes the negative perception to misinformation and confirmation bias, the controversy surrounding its use remains a significant factor in player opinions.

Launching in February 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, KCD2 transports players to medieval Bohemia, following Henry, a blacksmith's apprentice whose village faces devastation. Kickstarter backers who pledged at least $200 will receive a free copy of the game.
