How To Join the Baldur’s Gate 3 Stress Test & Try Crossplay

Long awaited by players across PC and consoles, crossplay is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3 with Patch 8! While a firm release date is pending, a Patch 8 Stress Test will give select players early access in January 2025. This test will help identify and fix bugs before the wider launch.

When is Cross-Play Arriving?

Patch 8, including crossplay, doesn't have an official release date yet. However, the January 2025 Stress Test will offer a sneak peek for chosen participants.

How to Sign Up for the Stress Test

Want early access to crossplay? Register for the Patch 8 Stress Test! This applies to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players. Simply complete Larian's Stress Test Registration form. You'll need a Larian account. The form is quick and requires basic player information, including your gaming platform.

Selection isn't guaranteed. Those chosen will receive an email with further instructions. Selected participants can offer feedback via forms and Discord.

The Stress Test will also evaluate the patch's effect on mods. Mod users should consider registering to ensure compatibility.

Remember: All players in your group must participate in the Stress Test to utilize crossplay. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for the full release in 2025.
