Genshin Impact 5.0 Update Leaks: New Dendro DPS and Natlan Region Details

Recent leaks offer exciting insights into Genshin Impact's upcoming 5.0 update, focusing on the introduction of the Natlan region and a new playable character. Following Fontaine's storyline conclusion, the highly anticipated Natlan region—known for its Pyro affiliation and war-like culture—will debut, bringing a wealth of new content including environments, characters, weapons, and storylines. This includes the Pyro Archon, Murata, also known as the God of War.

A prominent leaker, Uncle K, has revealed details about a new 5-star Dendro DPS character. This character, speculated to be male, will wield a Claymore, marking a first for this element/weapon combination at 5-star rarity. Their abilities will center around the Bloom and Burning elemental reactions. Bloom, created by combining Dendro and Hydro, produces explosive Dendro Cores. Burning, a simpler DoT effect, results from combining Dendro and Pyro.

Community Concerns Regarding Burning Reaction

The reliance on the Burning reaction has raised concerns among some players, as it's generally considered weaker than other Dendro reactions. This contrasts with the upcoming 4.8 update, which will introduce the 5-star Dendro support Emilie. While originally designed around Burning, Emilie has reportedly received buffs to enhance her versatility and compatibility with various team compositions.

Future Characters and Villains

Currently, the only confirmed addition for 5.0 is Natlan's Pyro Archon. The 4.8 Special Program (around July 5th) might unveil more Natlan characters. Leaks also suggest Columbina, the Third Fatui Harbinger, will be the main antagonist of the Natlan arc. This powerful Cryo user is expected to become a playable character sometime in 2025.
