Genshin Impact Banner Rumors Swirl: Popular Character

Genshin Impact Version 5.4 Leak Hints at Wriothesley Rerun After Over a Year

A recent leak suggests Wriothesley's long-awaited rerun in Genshin Impact will finally arrive in Version 5.4, over a year after his initial release. This highlights the ongoing challenge Genshin Impact faces in balancing its expansive roster of over 90 playable characters with limited rerun slots on Event Banners. With the current system, providing fair and timely reruns for all limited 5-star characters is proving difficult.

While the Chronicled Banner aimed to address this issue, its effectiveness remains debated. Even with the Chronicled Banner, characters like Shenhe experienced exceptionally long waits before their reruns. Until the developers implement triple banners, extended wait times between character reruns seem inevitable.

Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, exemplifies this problem. His absence from Event Banners since November 8, 2023, has left many players eager for a chance to obtain him. This leak from Flying Flame, if accurate, would offer a much-needed opportunity. His unique Cryo hypercarry potential and strong performance in Burnmelt teams make him a desirable addition to many players' rosters.

However, caution is advised. Flying Flame's track record is mixed, with past inaccuracies regarding Natlan and the Version 5.3 Chronicled Banner. Therefore, this information should be treated with skepticism. Nevertheless, the recent Spiral Abyss buff that benefits Wriothesley's playstyle lends some credence to the rumor.

Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If the leak is true, and Mizuki and Wriothesley share an Event Banner, the remaining 5-star spot might feature either Furina or Venti, the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. Version 5.4's projected launch date is February 12, 2025.
