Freedom Wars Remastered: Every Weapon Type Explained
In *Freedom Wars Remastered*, you equip two weapons before each Operation, choosing from six distinct types to craft a playstyle perfectly suited to you. Mix and match to your heart's content! Each weapon type boasts unique characteristics, especially when charged.
Three are melee weapons, three are ranged, and all are highly customizable. Let's explore each weapon type's strengths:
Every Weapon Type in Freedom Wars Remastered
Weapon Type | Traits |
---|---|
Light Melee | Quick attacks ideal for fast-paced combat, best against single targets. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife. |
Heavy Melee | Wide-sweeping attacks inflict significant damage. Well-placed hits on multiple Abductor limbs multiply damage. Charged attacks launch you into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed. |
Polearm | Attacks often involve charging through enemies, providing mobility and evasion. Charged attacks hurl the polearm for massive damage from a distance. |
Assault Weapons | High ammo capacity, perfect as a primary weapon for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne for advantageous angles or safe-distance shots. |
Portable Artillery | High single-shot damage but low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed. |
Autocannons | High rate of fire with large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, but the rapid fire compensates. Reduces movement speed. |
Unlike the player character, your Accessory doesn't need to worry about ammo when using ranged weapons.
Acquire new weapons by completing Operations or purchasing them from Zakka in The Warren. You can change your weapons and Accessory weapons freely at any time; there are no penalties for frequent switching.
