The unexpected collaboration between Konami and FIFA is turning heads, especially after their long-standing rivalry with FIFA and PES. Now, they're teaming up to bring you the FIFAe virtual World Cup 2024, powered by eFootball, Konami’s premier football simulation game.

The In-Game Qualifiers Are Already Live In eFootball!

This exciting tournament is set to unfold across two categories: Console (PS4 and PS5) and Mobile. A total of 18 countries are eligible to participate in the final rounds, including Brazil, Japan, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey.

Mark your calendars! From October 10th to 20th, dive into the three-part in-game qualifiers. Following that, the National Nomination Phases will commence from October 28th to November 3rd, where each of the 18 competing countries will vie for a spot in the finals.

The thrilling offline final round is scheduled for the end of 2024, though Konami has kept the exact date under wraps for now. Even if you're not from one of the 18 eligible countries, you can still participate in the qualifiers up to Round 3 and earn fantastic rewards, including 50 eFootball coins, 30,000 XP, and other goodies.

FIFA x Konami’s eFootball Is Amusing!

It's quite the twist of fate to see FIFA and Konami join forces after years of competition. To put things into perspective, EA ended its partnership with FIFA in 2022 after a decade-long collaboration due to FIFA's demand for a staggering $1 billion licensing fee every four years, a significant leap from the $150 million they were previously receiving. This led to the dissolution of the deal, and subsequently, EA released EA Sports FC 24 in 2023 without the FIFA branding. Now, FIFA has turned to Konami’s eFootball for the FIFAe World Cup 2024.
