Elden Ring Nightreign: No Poisonous Swamps

In the eagerly awaited cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, fans might be surprised to find a notable absence—the infamous poisonous swamps. Yasuhiro Kitao, the project's product manager, recently confirmed to journalists that these challenging environments, a hallmark of From Software games, won't be making an appearance. This decision stems from the absence of Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is renowned for his affection towards swamp locations and has championed their inclusion in both *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series. However, Miyazaki did not participate in the development of *Elden Ring Nightreign*.

While a swamp-like area appeared in the game's trailer, Kitao clarified that it represents a distinct setting. This shift in environment design has sparked curiosity among the gaming community, eager to explore what new challenges *Elden Ring Nightreign* will bring.

On another note, there's exciting news for fans of cooperative gameplay. While *Elden Ring Nightreign* has been announced with single-player and three-player modes, there's a potential addition of a two-player mode. Initially excluded due to content balancing challenges, From Software is now considering reintroducing this option. Although no final decision has been made, the possibility of engaging in adventures with just one partner adds another layer of anticipation to the game's release.

Mark your calendars—*Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC and across two generations of consoles. Stay tuned for further updates as From Software continues to refine this much-anticipated title.
