Disney Mirrorverse Scheduled to Close Before 2023
Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the game's end-of-service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months remaining to enjoy the game before the servers are permanently closed.
A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered a compelling premise: action-packed battles featuring reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes. While initially met with enthusiasm, the game struggled to retain players due to a lengthy beta period and infrequent content updates.
The game's challenging shard collection system, requiring significant time or in-game spending to fully develop characters, also contributed to its decline. Despite these shortcomings, the game boasted impressive character designs and high-quality graphics.
The Unexpected EOS Announcement
The announcement came as a surprise to many players, especially considering the recent addition of Cinderella as a playable character and a new story chapter just a week prior. This isn't Kabam's first EOS announcement; they previously shut down Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off.
