Delta Force: Pre-orders Live for Android and iOS
Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its mobile release on iOS and Android. Launching in late January 2025, this Tencent-developed title marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market. The game features a blend of missions and modes emphasizing tactical gameplay.
For those unfamiliar, the Delta Force franchise holds a significant place in FPS history, predating even Call of Duty. Inspired by the real-life US military special forces unit, it's known for its realistic combat, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry.
Tencent's Level Infinite has meticulously revived the franchise. The game offers "Warfare" mode, delivering large-scale battles reminiscent of Battlefield, and "Operations" mode, focusing on extraction-style gameplay. A single-player campaign, drawing inspiration from the Battle of Mogadishu and the film "Black Hawk Down," is also planned for 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy surrounding cheating. Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures, implemented via G.T.I. Security, have drawn criticism for their perceived overreach on the PC version. While the mobile platform may experience less cheating, this controversy could still impact overall reception.
The mobile release offers a potential opportunity for the game to meet expectations, particularly given the reduced likelihood of cheating on mobile platforms.
