Stun the Monster

Ebony Odogaron's speed can be overwhelming, making it a challenging opponent. To counter this, utilize stunning tactics. There's typically a Flashfly nearby that you can activate to stun the monster. Additionally, crafting and using Flash Pods can also immobilize it temporarily, giving you a crucial window to attack.

Bring Teammates

Taking on Ebony Odogaron solo can be daunting due to its relentless attacks. To mitigate this, consider bringing teammates. Use SOS signals to call for backup; other players or NPCs can join your fight. NPCs serve as effective distractions, allowing you to dodge and regroup while they draw the monster's attention.

Pull Down Entangled Rocks

During the battle, you may find yourself in an area with Entangled Rocks overhead. Use your slinger to bring these down, stunning Ebony Odogaron for several seconds. Remember, this tactic can only be used once per fight. Complement this with Pitfall and Shock Traps to immobilize the creature twice more.

Beware of Dragonblight

Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which neutralizes your elemental and status effect buildup, impacting your damage output. Counter this by consuming a Nulberry or equipping decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance to mitigate the effect.

Inflict Paralysis

Inflicting Paralysis on Ebony Odogaron is highly recommended. This status effect immobilizes the monster briefly, simplifying the fight. If you can knock it down over roots, it might become further entangled, providing additional time for attacks.

Aim for the Head

The head is Ebony Odogaron's most vulnerable spot, with a 3-star weakness. Targeting it maximizes your damage output, though it places you directly in the monster's line of sight. For a safer approach, consider attacking its forelegs and tail, which can still lead to breaking its limbs.

Capturing Ebony Odogaron involves using a Pitfall or Shock Trap. However, ensure the monster's health is reduced to 20 percent or less before setting the trap. If the health is too high, the tranquilizer won't be effective, and the monster will soon break free, forcing you to continue the battle.
