Crusader Kings 3 Devs Share Initial Insights on Nomad-Themed DLC

Paradox Interactive has revealed the first details of their upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion, focusing on the unique challenges and opportunities of nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a revolutionary governance system specifically designed for nomadic gameplay. A new currency, "herd," will be central to a chieftain's authority, influencing military strength, cavalry composition, relationships with subjects, and other core game mechanics.

The nomadic lifestyle necessitates constant movement, and this expansion accurately reflects that. Chieftains will make strategic decisions about relocation, choosing between negotiation and forceful displacement of settled populations.

Adding a layer of strategic depth, nomadic rulers will command mobile yurts, similar to the adventurer's camp mechanic. These transportable yurts can be upgraded with various components, each offering unique benefits.

Further enhancing the nomadic experience, this DLC introduces iconic yurt towns that travel with the ruler. Functioning much like adventurer camps, these settlements can be expanded with additional structures, providing a range of crucial functions and enhancing the overall nomadic experience.
