Crunchyroll Adds Shin chan Game to Android Library

Shin Chan: Shiro & the Coal Town is now available on Android via the Crunchyroll Game Vault. This slice-of-life adventure first launched in Japan for the Nintendo Switch in February 2024, followed by a worldwide release on Switch and PC in October 2024. Its mobile debut has finally arrived.

Shin Chan: Shiro & Coal Town Is a Mysterious Anime Adventure

The story begins with the Nohara family moving to a tranquil village in Akita Prefecture after Hiroshi secures a job near his hometown. They rent a traditional Japanese farmhouse and embrace the serene rhythms of rural life.

Early on, Shinnosuke (Shin Chan) gets to experience the simple pleasures of the countryside with his grandfather, Ginnosuke. Players will spend their days fishing in Akita's rivers, catching insects in the groves, and learning farming tips from his grandmother.

One day, the family dog, Shiro, appears out of nowhere covered in soot and dashes away. Shin Chan gives chase, leading him to a mysterious train that wasn't there before. A single, accidental ride transports him to the peculiar world of Coal Town.

Coal Town Feels Frozen in the Showa Era

Coal Town is a stark contrast to the peaceful countryside, filled with bustling workers, retro aesthetics, and unique activities. The area features a children's park, a diner, various shops, restaurants, and an apartment complex. While some locations are interactive, others serve as detailed background scenery.

Here, you meet Yuri, a young inventor who enlists your help to gather materials for her experiments aimed at improving life for the town's residents. Her efforts are complicated by the arrival of her older brother, Chuck, whose obsessive push for a "waste-free" system ends up making everyone's life miserable. Your mission is to assist Yuri in stopping Chuck and restoring balance to Coal Town.
