The Chainsaw Man movie was first announced in December 2023 and serves as a direct sequel to the acclaimed MAPPA-produced anime that debuted in 2022. The story follows Denji, a young protagonist who, after making a pact with the Chainsaw Devil dog Pochita, gains the extraordinary ability to sprout chainsaws from various parts of his body. This power propels him into a new life as more than just a simple Chainsaw Man.
Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc will introduce fans to the character Reze, a significant figure from the original manga. The film is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and written by Hiroshi Seko, with the entire voice cast from the anime returning to reprise their roles.
