How to Start The Lion’s Crest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Right after you've breezed through the tutorial section of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and stepped into the vast open-world, your first stop should be to chat with the scribe Gaibl in Troskowitz. This conversation will kickstart The Lion’s Crest quest. Gaibl won't just give you a riddle to solve; he'll also hand over the smithing recipe for Brunswick’s polearm. You'll need to scavenger hunt for the materials yourself, but once you've got them, you can craft this mighty weapon at the blacksmith’s forge.

The Lion’s Crest Riddle Solution

Here's the riddle you'll need to crack:

“Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still.”

To solve this, head to Trosky Castle where you'll find the Crone Tower and Maiden Tower. Exit through the northern gates and trek north into the forest.

Keep your eyes peeled to the left side of the path as you follow the road. You'll soon spot some rocky formations with crevices you can navigate through. Once you pass these, you'll find a cave housing a chapel. Inspect the cross on the rock next to it to claim the first piece of Brunswick’s Armour, along with two treasure maps to aid your quest.

Continue on the road from the chapel, heading west until you hit the crossroads. Then, venture north into the woods to discover a wolf den. Look above the den for some trees where you'll find a bag containing the second piece of Brunswick’s armour.

Map 2

Your next stop is Vidlak Pond's small outpost. Follow the path behind the fisherman’s house and keep an eye out for a large rock formation along the cliffs. Climb up to find a chest next to a cross.

Fast travel to Zhelejov and head towards the tavern, then leave the settlement. Cross two bridges towards Tachov, but right after the second, veer onto a small path leading to the river and forest. Follow this until you reach a hill with a large tree at the top. Examine the tree to find some bones and a bag with more of the armour.

Map 4

Your final journey takes you to a hill between the Nomads’ Camp and Bozhena’s Hut. Look for rocks with a cross on top; this is where you'll find the last piece of Brunswick’s armour.
