Breaking: Netflix Games to Lose Two GTA
Netflix Games is losing some major titles! Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City are leaving the Netflix Games catalog next month.
Why the Departure?
This isn't a surprise move. Netflix licenses games similarly to films and shows, and the licenses for these two GTA classics are expiring on December 13th. A "Leaving Soon" tag will appear on the games before they're removed. The initial 12-month agreement between Netflix and Rockstar Games is simply concluding.
If you're currently enjoying the mayhem of Liberty City or the vibrant streets of Vice City on Netflix, you'll need to finish your adventures before the deadline. Good news: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas remains available on the platform.
What Are Your Options?
Don't worry, you can still experience these iconic titles! Both Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City are available for purchase as part of the Definitive Editions on the Google Play Store. Individual games cost $4.99, or you can grab the complete trilogy for $11.99.
Unlike previous instances where games were simply removed without warning (like Samurai Shodown V and WrestleQuest), Netflix is giving players ample notice. This is somewhat ironic considering the GTA trilogy significantly boosted Netflix Games subscriptions in 2023.
There are even rumors that Rockstar and Netflix are collaborating on bringing remastered versions of Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and possibly even Chinatown Wars to the platform in the future!
