This update addresses numerous bugs, crashes, and scripting errors in the Patch 8 stress test build. It also ensures Gale correctly interacts with magical items. Access to this update is limited to those participating in the stress test. Non-testers will need to wait for the full Patch 8 release to experience these improvements.

Key improvements include: containers retaining contents when destroyed, improved screenshotting in Photo Mode for Steam Deck users, more responsive character poses, enhanced cross-play functionality, updated Booming Blade tooltip values, and several crash fixes. For a comprehensive list of changes, visit the official Baldur's Gate 3 website.

Patch 8 is anticipated to be a massive update, possibly one of the final large content additions before Larian moves on from Faerûn. It introduces platform cross-play, over 12 new subclasses (including the Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter), and the highly anticipated Photo Mode.

While waiting for Patch 8, explore the possibilities of Photo Mode with Larian's in-depth sneak peek video. The developers aim to empower players to fully utilize Photo Mode from the outset.

Access Photo Mode almost anywhere—during exploration, combat, and even in multiplayer (for the host). Customize character poses, include or exclude party members, and even add unexpected elements like a screen-filling frog! A free-moving camera allows for perfect shots. Add post-processing effects, stickers, and frames to personalize your creations. Note that during dialogues and cutscenes, only post-processing effects are available.

This sneak peek is just the beginning. Larian plans to release additional tips and tricks videos to further inspire player creativity.
