Assetto Corsa Competizione Launches Today
For fans of realistic driving simulations, January 16th, 2025 marks a significant date. Kunos Simulazioni Studios is launching Assetto Corsa Competizione EVO into Steam Early Access.
At launch, players will experience the thrill of driving 20 meticulously detailed cars across 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite being in Early Access, expect impressive physics, precise handling, and remarkably realistic car behavior.
A standout feature is the free-roaming mode, allowing for unrestricted exploration. A major summer 2025 update promises a game-changer: a fully laser-scanned open world encompassing the legendary Nürburgring and its surrounding roads. This expansive environment, initially covering 1600 square kilometers, will grow gradually with future updates.
Assetto Corsa Competizione EVO aims to challenge established giants like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, boasting photorealistic graphics and advanced physics.
The initial release will feature 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with more content planned for free post-launch updates. Every circuit will faithfully replicate real-world conditions, from tire wear to wet pavement, enhanced by realistic animated spectators.
Developers have meticulously refined vehicle dynamics, suspension damping, and shock absorption. The Driving Academy mode, a key single-player activity in Early Access, challenges players to complete tracks within time limits to earn a license unlocking access to the most prestigious vehicles.
