Game Introduction

Maximize your word count to achieve victory! Squares is a daily word puzzle and strategy game where players strategically complete squares on a grid to form words.

Gameplay: Connect letters in any direction—up, down, left, right, or diagonally—to create words. The objective is to locate all words on the grid and amass the highest possible score.

Rules: Each letter in a word earns one point (e.g., a five-letter word scores five points). Words must contain at least four letters. Each tile can only be used once per word. Words with hyphens, proper nouns, offensive language, or uncommon terms are not included in the main word list.

Bonus Words: Bonus words consist of obscure, archaic, or slang terms. These don't contribute to your score but are listed separately. You can continue searching for them even after finding all the main words (post-game). Each puzzle also features a "Word of the Day," a special, often longer bonus word. Discovering it rewards you with two extra hints!

Daily Puzzle: A new Squares puzzle is available daily at midnight.

Grid Rotation: Need a fresh perspective? Rotate the grid left or right using the buttons in the bottom right corner. A different viewpoint can help uncover hidden words.

Letter Usage Hints: After finding 40% of the words, you'll receive a hint: a number next to each letter indicates how many words begin with that letter. A missing number signifies no words start with that letter. If a letter turns orange, it's no longer used in the main words but might still appear in bonus words.

Hints System: Each puzzle offers 3 to 5 hints (lightbulb icon). Using a hint reveals the first letter of a random word and its search direction. The number of hints (3-5) varies based on puzzle difficulty. Sharing the game link with friends grants you one extra hint! Good luck and happy word hunting!
