Popular Classic Card Game: Seven Bridges
Seven Bridges is a captivating Japanese card game blending elements of Rummy and Mahjong. The objective? Get rid of your hand faster than your opponents! You achieve this by forming melds – sets of cards with the same number (groups) or consecutive numbers of the same suit (sequences) – and then laying them down. You can also enhance your score by tagging other players' melds, utilizing their discards to create your own melds (Pong or Chi). Unlike Mahjong's complexity, Seven Bridges simplifies the experience with only seven cards in hand and two meld types, making it accessible to newcomers. The scoring system works by tallying the points remaining in opponents' hands at the end of a round. Strategic melding is key; revealing melds reduces your points but also makes them vulnerable to tagging by other players. The game strikes a perfect balance between calculated risk and strategic concealment, making it enjoyable for families and friends of all ages.
