Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders will hit Xbox Game Pass on Tuesday, January 21st, as a day-one release. While Microsoft's initial January 2025 Game Pass announcements were met with some disappointment due to a lack of new titles, the second half of the month is shaping up to be much more exciting.

The first half of January primarily saw some Ultimate-only games transition to the Standard tier. Notable additions were Diablo to PC Game Pass and EA Sports UFC 5 to the Ultimate tier. While a formal announcement for the second wave of January 2025 Game Pass additions is pending, at least one exciting title is confirmed.

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, launching January 21st, will be a day-one Game Pass Ultimate title. This co-op and PvP skiing game offers a thrilling addition to the lineup.

Beyond Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, January's second half boasts a strong selection of day-one Game Pass titles. Following a slower start to the month, Eternal Strands (January 28th), Sniper Elite: Resistance (January 30th), and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (January 31st) join the lineup.

Of particular note is Eternal Strands, an action-adventure game from Yellow Brick Games (led by BioWare veteran Mike Laidlaw), which evokes a strong Zelda feeling. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can access all these new January 2025 titles at no extra cost.

February 2025's Game Pass lineup currently appears less robust. While Avowed is confirmed for February 18th (Game Pass Ultimate), details on other additions remain scarce. Until then, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can enjoy Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, Eternal Strands, and the other day-one January releases.
