"World of Warcraft Extends Anniversary Event Currency Deadline"

Summary

  • World of Warcraft will automatically convert leftover Bronze Celebration Tokens into Timewarped Badges in Patch 11.1.
  • The conversion rate is 1:20, meaning players will receive 20 Timewarped Badges for each unused Bronze Celebration Token.
  • Players should log in after the patch's release to benefit from the auto-conversion of tokens.

World of Warcraft is set to automatically convert any remaining Bronze Celebration Tokens from the 20th anniversary event into Timewarped Badges with the release of Patch 11.1. This update will ensure that players who didn't use all their tokens before the event concluded will automatically receive 20 Timewarped Badges for every Bronze Celebration Token in their inventory.

The World of Warcraft 20th anniversary event, which lasted 11 weeks, allowed players to accumulate numerous Bronze Celebration Tokens. These tokens were used to purchase revamped Tier 2 sets and various anniversary collectibles. Any unused tokens could be converted into Timewarped Badges, the currency utilized in Timewalking events.

With the event now over, World of Warcraft is assisting players who still have Bronze Celebration Tokens. According to a forum post by WoW community manager Linxy, any characters with remaining tokens in their currency tabs will have them automatically converted into Timewarped Badges at a 1:20 ratio—the same rate used during the event. This conversion will occur the first time players log in after Patch 11.1 is released.

World of Warcraft Bronze Celebration Token Auto-Conversion in Patch 11.1

As soon as the event ended on January 7, Bronze Celebration Tokens became obsolete. Blizzard has confirmed that the currency will not be used again, even if the revamped Tier 2 sets are reintroduced in future events. The automatic conversion ensures that players who didn't use all their tokens won't be left with a useless entry in their Currency tabs.

While Patch 11.1 does not yet have an official release date, it is expected to launch around February 25. This date aligns with the end of the second Plunderstorm event (January 14 to February 17) and the Turbulent Timeways event (until February 24), and follows Blizzard’s recent update schedule, considering the holiday period.

Unfortunately, the conversion of Bronze Celebration Tokens will likely occur after the second Turbulent Timeways event concludes. This event spans seven weeks and covers all Timewalking campaigns, offering numerous opportunities to spend Timewarped Badges. Thankfully, items purchased with Timewarped Badges will remain available, allowing players to save their badges for future Timewalking events.
