Ubisoft Leaks: Rainbow Six Siege 2 in Development with Enhanced Graphics

According to an insider known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is set to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled at the MGM Music Hall from February 14–16. The project, reportedly codenamed Siege X, is said to be built on an updated engine, boasting enhanced graphics with revamped textures and models.

Interestingly, Ubisoft might not bring back the temporary events from the original game, opting instead for entirely new events. The anticipated release for Rainbow Six Siege 2 is slated for the second season of the tenth year of support, roughly mid-2025.

Previously, Alexander Karpazis, the creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, expressed that a sequel wasn't necessary due to the ongoing development of the current game. However, if this leak holds true, it appears Ubisoft may have reconsidered their stance.

It's important to approach such rumors with caution. Without an official statement from Ubisoft, all of this remains speculative.

The Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, known as the Six Invitational 2025, is on the horizon. Taking place in Boston, twenty teams will vie for a piece of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the championship title. Oxygen Esports, having triumphed in the North American Last Chance Qualifier, secured the last spot in the competition.

A tournament featuring twenty teams is unusual. While Ubisoft is likely to maintain the format from the previous year—four groups engaging in a round-robin format among five teams, followed by Double Elimination playoffs—there's always a chance for a surprise twist.

In this format, the first-place team gets a bye in the first round, the fourth-place team starts in the lower bracket, the rest enter the playoffs in the upper bracket, and the last team in each group is eliminated.
