Streamer Masters Guitar Hero's Toughest Song at Double Speed
Clone Hero streamer and content creator CarnyJared has achieved the extraordinary by completing a full combo (FC) on DragonForce's iconic Guitar Hero 3 song, "Through the Fire and Flames," at an astonishing 200% speed. This monumental feat, which CarnyJared declared as "IT. IS. OVER," was shared with the world on February 27, 2025, marking the culmination of a nine-month journey dedicated to mastering the song's 3,722 notes flawlessly.
In his video description, CarnyJared expressed deep gratitude towards his supportive community on Twitch and YouTube, acknowledging their crucial role in his success. "I am rightfully thankful for everybody that has supported me throughout this ridiculous grind. I have the best supporters on the entire platform of Twitch and YouTube," he stated. He further elaborated on the collective effort, "We all spent an unfathomable amount of time staring at the same 3,722 notes, figuring out any possible way to hit them more efficiently. Somehow it worked out, and somehow I am able to sit in front of this computer which you have all cumulatively provided to me, and make a living playing Clone Hero."
The challenge of playing "Through the Fire and Flames" at 200% speed is immense, condensing a seven-and-a-half-minute song into just over three minutes. Achieving a full combo in Clone Hero, an open-source game similar to Guitar Hero, means playing without missing a single note. CarnyJared's on-screen stats showcased his progress, with nearly 2,000 successful FC runs past the song's first bridge, 662 past its second, and only 227 reaching the solo section. His successful 200% FC on "Through the Fire and Flames" marks only his fourth time passing the solo.
CarnyJared described this achievement as "the hardest thing" he's ever done, emphasizing the emotional and physical toll of his endeavor. He celebrated not just the accomplishment but also the unwavering support from his family and community, which sustained him through the highs and lows of his journey. "This is a moment that will live with me forever," he shared, underscoring the profound impact of his success.
For fans eager to delve deeper into how such a feat was accomplished, CarnyJared has promised a comprehensive "1 hour+" documentary in the coming months, offering an in-depth look at his journey.
